Good news for transatlantic travelers: ultra low cost carrier, Spirit Airlines, has announced that they are set to begin their nonstop and connecting service between the United States and Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Spirit, based in Miramar, Florida, adds Trinidad & Tobago as its 22nd destination in the Caribbean & Latin America, and the 43rd city it serves.
Nonstop service from Ft Lauderdale, Florida begins in 12 June 2008, in addition to connecting services to and from major US cities including Atlantic City (NJ), Atlanta (GA), Boston (MA), Columbia (SC), Washington (DC), Detroit (MI), Long Island (NY), New York (NY), Orlando (FL), Myrtle Beach (FL), Chicago (IL), San Antonio (TX), and Tampa (FL).
“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce this new service to Trinidad and Tobago,” said Spirit’s Chief Marketing Officer Barry Biffle. “Trinis will look back on this day as the day they gained their independence from high fares!”
Here's to that!
